They weren’t lying when they claimed to be The Best Workout In The World. Barry’s Bootcamp is the original treadmill/strength workout that’s been going for almost 20 years, since the first studio opened in LA in 1998. It’s now in 5 countries.
The workout is tough but guarantees results. You’ll spend time doing sprints, hill sprints, endurance runs or the occasional dynamic mode sprints on the treadmill, and circuits on the floor, focus area depends on the day of the week (e.g. arms on Mondays and legs on Tuesdays). The timing of each round varies, so you will never do the same workout twice.
It’s hugely popular because it’s so challenging and guarantees both aesthetic and performance results. My 5k time improved massively since I started working out here – from around 27 min to 22 min 46 sec at my absolute peak.
The energy from the Barry’s family is also highly contagious – when you meet someone else who does Barry’s, you will immediately bond over the blood, sweat and tears poured over those treadmills.
They have three studios to fit everyone in – Euston (Central), Old Street (East) and Queensway (West). The latest studio in Queensway is bigger and sweatier than ever!
Sweat index: 10 (After a few sessions you will learn to only book treadmills where the fans are because you get soaked without them)
