KOBOX | Chelsea/City, London

Where fight club meets nightclub.

KOBOX is a boxing/circuit class suitable for all levels. New to boxing? Fear not. Each combination of punches is numbered and projected to the front wall so you know exactly what you’re doing – 1 for straight jab, 2 for cross, 3 for left hook, 4 for right hook, 5 for left uppercut, 6 for right uppercut.

Switching between floor and bag drills, you can choose to start on the floor (bodyweight or weighted drills) or on the bag (punching the bag according to the combinations projected on the wall). You could even request to do double bag or floor i.e. staying on the bag/floor for the entirety of the class. Note that Ian and Jay’s drills can get quite creative (read: wtf is this burpee+tuck jump+pull up).

Like Core Collective, you can expect the clientele and trainers to be upmarket – Rosie Huntington Whiteley’s brother Toby and Jordan Dunn’s brother Antoine both teach here.

Their City studio is slightly smaller, but its walls are covered with mirrors and the studio is flooded by clever lighting, so you can really see yourself releasing your rage!
