Expect beats, sassy choreography and lots of positive vibes at Boom Cycle. This is the opposite of competitive spinning, so there are no monitors on the bikes. Both studios are very handy for city workers, and they’re planning to open two more studios, one in the revamped Battersea Power Station and Hammersmith.
Unfortunately the last few times I’ve been to Holborn and Shoreditch I’ve had a few issues with the temperature of the studios, flooding in the showers and broken cleats, so it hasn’t made it into my list of best classes in London, but to each their own!
The newest addition to the Boom Cycle family is at the new Battersea Power Station Circus West Village. It’s also the sleekest studio out of all 4, with plenty of space and gleaming showers. They also boast a bright and open space to hang out or work, with a hint of a river view. Refuel at No 29 Power Station West or Mother next doors – they do great menus and are not generally full on weekends as they’ve only just opened.
Sweat index: 7-8 (as you would expect from spinning, but I also felt that a lot of it was down to how hot it would get in both studios)
